Born and Raised in South Central New Mexico
My artistic musical endeavors are influenced by the natural surroundings of the uniquely beautiful New Mexico desert & mountain landscapes
Musician / Singer / Composer / Songwriter
I’ve been a part of the Albuquerque music scene since the late 1980’s and have played guitar in a number of the city’s more creative acts starting with the alt-rock group Splinter Fish, progressing through the 90’s with the world-beat of Saha World Telegraph and then jam band oriented music with the Withdrawals and Mucho Buddha. After playing with Native rockers Saving Damsels in the 2010’s, I joined forces with tribute band Pink Freud and improv oriented band Carli’s Angels. I’ve also played solo performances at the UNM Cancer Center for over 10 years.
Ambient Electronic Music
Recently, I’ve been composing ambient electronic music under the moniker of American Cicada Laboratory and currently writing music with my wife Shelly Ley for an upcoming duo that incorporates electronic music, acoustic instruments, and voice.
Microcosm Nature & Wildlife Photography
During the Covid pandemic, I rekindled my love for nature and wildlife photography. My pictures invite you into the world of microcosms with photos of unique desert flowers and their abundant oases of insect life as well as the incredible New Mexico vistas of desert landforms and sky.

“To me, a Fender Telecaster is like that blunt friend who tells you exactly what you need to hear, whether it’s ugly or exquisitely beautiful”
